Research

Research

Both Liz Blume and Emma Shirey-McNamara have extensive experience in conducting research that has informed regional policy, local decision-making, and project site development. We have created primary research including survey instruments, updating longitudinal surveys and methods, and executed on multiple field studies to inform client understanding on topics from affordable housing to economic market analysis, to community connectedness, youth experiences, perceptions about education, to violence and crime. We use both qualitative and quantitative methods in our work, including appreciative inquiry and incumbent interviewing.  We also have extensive experience designing research using secondary data to better understand what is happening in communities, understand community change and use that understanding to help craft policy that can be effective.

Effective, straightforward information is an important tool to expand conversations and give communities the new perspective they need to innovate, see their communities and themselves differently and give people the courage to do things differently.
